FAQs

Electrical Muscular Stimulation (EMS) is a form of stimulating muscles using light, painless, electric impulses. Just as our central nervous system sends electrical impulses to control our muscle action, EMS replicates this natural process, sending electrical impulses to muscles for the purpose of strength training and fitness. However, with Electrical Muscle Stimulation, the process can be intensified, reaching deeper muscle layers which are difficult to activate through conventional exercise.

Numerous studies at the University of Bayreuth (2002 – 2003) and Erlangen-Nürnberg (2009), at the German Sporthochschule Köln (2008), as well as the heart clinic in Bad Oeynhausen (2010) have shown the effectiveness of EMS training.
Studies have found that both trained and untrained participants achieve visible and tangible results in short period of time. Results include muscle-building and the increase in athlete’s speed, due to the fast twitching (FT) muscle fibers being activated first by the external impulse. Results also showed that EMS also worked for target areas such as stomach or back, especially for reduction of back pain. Furthermore studies showed that EMS – unlike conventional training – puts no stress on the joints.

ABTP offers guests a unique personal training experience. Our Trainers combine the electrical stimuli into your deep muscle fibers with dynamic movements to achieve your fitness goals. We offer a range of sessions these include strength and muscle shaping sessions and fat loss and cellulite sessions.
Body20 Trainers combine the electrical stimuli with dynamic movements working deep muscle fibers to achieve your fitness goals.

Yes, EMS training is safe and the low frequency current does not harm or hurt your body. Muscles rely on electrical impulses from the central nervous system, naturally, to contract. EMS simply mimics this principle. EMS has the ability to intensify the contraction externally, by applying electrodes onto the skin right above the muscle.

The EMS session is recommended twice a week, as it is extremely demanding on your body. For the best result,s your body will need time to rest and regenerate its tissues.
